About The Beis
Beis Rabbonim
History of the Beis
Situated in the heart of Hendon, the Beis is London's foremost Mokom Torah for those wishing to combine serious learning with University study or work. Up to 80 people learn in the Beis every evening, and its world class faculty of Rabbonim provide a high level of shiurim in both Gemoro and Halocho. Recognised for its unique and invaluable contribution to the community, the Beis has been privileged to host guest speakers from around the world including, Dayan Chanoch Ehrentreu, R' Osher Weiss, R' Michael Rosensweig, and R' Pinchos Roberts.
Beis Rabbonim
The Beis is led by a world-class faculty of Rabbonim. Between them they offer a high level program of shiurim and guide the Beis on all Halachic matters.
R' C Z Pearlman
R' Chaim Zundel Pearlman has been giving shiurim in the Beis since 1999 and is the Rosh Beis
Hamedrash. Having learned at the Gateshead Yeshiva and Ponovizh, R' Pearlman went on to
read Economics at St Johns College, Cambridge, where he gave a regular Gemora shiur to the
Cambridge Jewish Society. A stint at the Economics Intelligence Department at the Bank of England
was followed by a career in accountancy which spanned 25 years. As well as R' Pearlman's
responsibilities in the Beis, he is also the Rov of Machzikei Hadas, Golders Green (the shul formerly
lead by R' Avrohom Yitzchok Hakohen Kook), and gives a daf yomi shiur in the JLE, Golders Green. R'

in Yeshivos in Israel, including the Mir and the Beis Mussar Kolel, and has acted as a Sho'el U'Meishiv
in Heichal Ha'Torah (Reb Zvi's). Since joining The Beis R' Conick has given shiur on a regular basis,
and has been instrumental in attracting recent Yeshiva graduates. His table in the middle of the Beis
Hamedrash is for many people a first port of call for help in a sugya, and he is known for his listening
ear and sage advice. As well as R' Conick's responsibilities in the Beis, he is also a Senior Rebbi in the
Hasmonean Beis program.
R' Marcel Bordon
R' Marcel Bordon has been learning, teaching and mentoring in the Beis for 9 years, and for 6 of
those was the senior Maggid Shiur. R' Bordon learned in Ponovezh for one year followed by 2 years
in the Mir under R' Chaim Shmulevitz זצ"ל and R' Nochum Pertzowitz זצ"ל. After reading Philosophy
and Law at Jesus College, Cambridge, R' Bordon returned to Mir Yeshiva where he learned for a
further 8 years. He received smicha from HaGaon R' Ovadia Yosef שליט"א and HaGaon R' Yitzchok
Kolitz זצ"ל among others. He published an annotated edition of the Ba'al Ha'Maor's Hilchos Sh'chita
U'Bdika in the Sefer haZicaron for HaGaon R' Yitzchok Hutner זצ"ל (Machon Yerushalayim), and for
the last 25 years has been preparing an annotated edition of the Chidushei Ha'Ran on Chullin, to
be published (eventually) by Mossad Ha'Rav Kook. Rav Bordon has been giving a weekly Shiur Iyun
under the auspices of Ner Yisrael for the past 14 years. For 9 years R' Bordon has given a weekly
Shiur on Perek Chelek in Sanhedrin. R' Bordon is also the CEO of his family's group of companies. A
keen jogger, R' Bordon has recently completed several 10 kilometre runs, and his folk-inspired song
writing talents are a highly anticipated feature of the annual Beis Purim Mesiba.
R' Daniel Klein
R' Daniel Klein, Maggid Shiur,
has given shiur in the Beis on Gemoro and Nach since 2008. In
between learning in Kol Torah for 3 years and the Mir for 5 years, R' Klein graduated with First Class
honours in Computer Science from Imperial College, London. He has written seforim on the first
perek of Nedarim and Chezkas Habatim and currently works as an Investment Manager in the West End. He can be
seen on Sunday afternoons at Power League tormenting opposition defenders.
History of the Beis
The Beis (officially "The Beit Midrash") was founded in 1991 by a group of young Yeshiva graduates who, dissatisfied with the limited opportunities on offer in London, decided to set up a centre for Jewish learning. The idea caught on like wildfire with over 600 people attending the launch event at Raleigh Close at which Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks gave the keynote address. In the 20 years since then, the Beis has been housed in several different locations in Hendon, but has always remained true to its core values of serious learning in a friendly atmosphere.
